Autologous Stem Cell Rescue it is!
Hi, just back from two days at Brum following Heart tests and consultation. My heart results showed abnormal ECG as expected due to slightly thickened heart wall (15mm) but my heart performance was great. I completed the treadmill test (only walking with a slight incline) and hardly broke into heavy breathing so must be a good sign. The end pace was just about a fast walk I was just about ready to break into a jog type pace. My LVEF was 75% which is also above normal so hopefully I’m as ready as can be for this procedure.
There are no guarantees and my risk factor is around 15% he thinks and will treat me as an allogeneic transplant (stem cells from someone else) where they monitor your vitals a lot closer than an autologous patient due to higher risk of complications.
I’m nervous but ready I think, so Hickman line in tomorrow and then into Hospital for a month from Monday.
wisk me luck, choo
