Hickman Line’s in
Hi, just a quick update - went into Hospital yesterday for the hickman line procedure so my fluids, chemo etc can be delivered effectively into my system whist in Hospital for the transplant. Bizarre day really as went in at 8.10 for an 8.30 appointment but didn’t get the line until 2.45 ish.The bizarre thing was that I was called through at about 11.30 and prep began in the theatre. The Doctor was just about to give me the local anesthetic (I could see his wild eyes and a big needle - nah only joking!) when everything stopped a voice in the background said STOP. I’m like what! An emergency case had just been phoned through so I was asked to get off the table and back into my bed and was sent back to my ward! Unbelievable! Anyway all went well and I was out at about 3.00. It was pretty ok the procedure but a bit sore today.
All done now though and ready for the next action! I think!
spk soon,
Phil
